Lyda L. Vice, 86, of Kahoka, MO died Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk. She was born October 17, 1927 in Granger, Missouri the daughter of Carlisle and Georgiana Shannan Busby. On October 20, 1945 she was united in marriage to Stuart Vice in Granger, MO. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2004. Lyda and her husband managed the Madison Inn in Ft. Madison for many years. After that she retired from Sheaffer Pen in Ft. Madison. She was a lifetime member of the Missouri Longriders and loved to go to horse shows. She is survived by two nephews, Ronnie Busby and his wife Karen of Luray, MO, Henry Calvert and his wife Janice of Montrose, IA, four nieces, Betty Hunold and her husband Ron of Warsaw, IL, Audrey Dietsch of Lavaca, Arkansas, Lois Hill and her husband Daril of Nauvoo, IL and Janice Butler and her husband Rodger of Ft. Madison, IA along with many great nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Maytie Carlvert and Osa Hasper and a brother, George Busby. According to her wishes there will be no services. Burial will be in the Keokuk National Cemetery.
