Louise Bergman, 87, of Montrose, IA, formerly of Keokuk, IA died Friday, April 15, 2005 at the Montrose Health Center in Montrose, IA. She was born May 11, 1918 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Frank & Merle Peevler Hagmeier. On March 13, 1954, Louise was united in marriage to Walter Albert Bergman. He preceded her in death December 29, 1993. Louise was a lifelong resident of Keokuk, IA. She had been an enthusiastic and dedicated Avon Representative for 50 years. She was a member of the Sandusky United Methodist Church, the Ladies Aid Society and the Belmont Cosmopolitan Club. Louise enjoyed working in her garden, making crafts and crocheting. Louise is survived by one daughter Marilyn York and her husband Welton of Pryor, OK, one grand-daughter, Athena Bradley and her husband Tom of Pryor, OK, two grandsons, Cory Stehl and his wife Stephanie of Collinsville, OK and Philip Stehl of Keokuk, IA, seven great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews including Sharon Burgess Canida who was her caretaker for many years. Besides her husband, Walter, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Stehl, her son, Dennis Stehl, two sisters, Dorothy Grewell and Virginia Sparrow and seven brothers, Kenneth, Carl, Frank Jr., Richard, Melvin, Clayton and Clifford Hagmeier. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday April 18, 2005 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend John Abraham officiating. Burial was in the Sandusky Cemetery, rural Keokuk, IA. A Memorial was established for the Sandusky United Methodist Church.
