Lottie M. Hancock, 103, of Montrose, IA died Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at the Montrose Health Center in Montrose, IA. She was born on February 8, 1904 in rural Montrose, IA, the daughter of Frank and Amanda VanAusdol Marshall. On November 28, 1928, Lottie was united in marriage to Ralph Hancock. They were married for sixty-six years before his death on October 15, 1994. Lottie was a lifelong resident of Montrose, IA. She had been employed at W.A. Shaeffer Pen Company in Ft. Madison, IA, the Ordinance Plant in Middletown, IA, and Sheller Globe in Keokuk where she retired after sixteen years of service. She was a long-standing member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Montrose. Lottie enjoyed knitting, crocheting and working in her garden. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one brother, M.O. Marshall and two sisters, Opal Marshall and Jesse Shaw. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Montrose, IA with Reverend Goldie Laymon officiating. Burial was in the Montrose Cemetery.
