Loretta Murphy, 90, of Kahoka, MO, died Monday, January 18, 2010 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, MO. She was born July 19, 1919 in Alexandria, Missouri, the daughter of James W. and Edith Montgomery Jones. On December 19, 1936 she was united in marriage to Arthur "Bud" Murphy. He preceded her in death on October 31, 1987. She is survived by a daughter, Jan Legg and her husband Lyle of Canton, MO, two sons, Larry Murphy and his wife Beverly of Arizona and Steve Murphy and his wife Sue of Kahoka, MO, five grandchildren, Brenda, Vickie Lynn, Teresa Jo, Terri Lynn, and Linda, three step grandchildren, Geraldine, Dexter and Mark, and several great grandchildren, and one sister, Shirley Roberts of Ottumwa, IA. Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Lee Murphy Graveside services were held at the Frazee Cemetery in rural Alexandria. There was no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clark County Nursing Home.
