Lorena Mae Wildrick, 69, of Montrose, IA died Saturday, December 31, 2005 at the Ft. Madison Community Hospital in Ft. Madison, IA. She was born August 2, 1936 in Keokuk, Iowa the daughter of John Jacob and Nettie Mabel Kite Alberts. On March 8, 1958, she was united in marriage to Walter Dale "Diz" Wildrick in Elvaston, IL. He preceded her in death on October 26, 1989. Lorena graduated from Montrose High School in Montrose, IA with the Class of 1953. She had been employed as a CNA at the Montrose Health Center for 15 years. She retired in 1996. After her retirement she babysat fulltime for her granddaughter, Nettie. Her family was her first priority in life and she was devoted to caring for them. She was a loving mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her family. One of her hobbies was finding and collecting cookie jars. She is survived by two daughters, Delene Atterberg and her husband Kevin of Keokuk, IA, Trena Wildrick of Ft. Madison, IA, one son, John Wildrick of Montrose, IA, three step sons, Michael Wildrick and his wife Diane of Carthage, IL, Rick Wildrick and his wife Lori of Elvaston, IL and Richard Wildrick and his wife Valerie of Hamilton., IL, three granddaughters, Lydia and Kaylene Atterberg, and Nettie Wildrick, and five step grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother Marshall Leland Alberts in 1946. Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 3, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Mike McMillan officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, IA. Memorials may be made to her granddaughters education funds.
