Lola B. Nye, 86, of Kahoka, MO, died Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO. She was born on January 5, 1928 in Revere, MO, the daughter of Russell and Alice Shaler Howell. On June 5, 1946, Lola was united in marriage to James D. Nye in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1988. Lola had been employed at Gipps Manufacturing in Hartwell, GA for several years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Kahoka, MO. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and attending church. She is survived by seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren, three sisters, Edith Wooldridge of Burlington, IA, Helen Ashley of Keokuk, IA and Martha Weirather of Cedar Rapids, IA, two brothers, Bobby Howell of Keokuk and Delbert Howell of Oregon, and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by three sons, James, Ronald and Jeffery Nye and one daughter, Betty Vannatta. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday December 9th, 2014 at the Keokuk National Cemetery with Reverend Jim Campbell officiating.
