Obituary

Linda Lee Brown, 61, of Montrose, IA died Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in Revere, MO. She was born on September 24, 1955 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Steven and Martha Mae Kay Brown. She married Elmer Burgess in 1974. They later divorced. She had been employed at Charlies Tap in Montrose and the Purple Cow in Alexandria, MO. Linda enjoyed fishing, working crossword puzzles and listening to country music. She also enjoyed traveling but didn't have a very good sense of direction so she often got lost. She loved her dogs and cats and treated them like family. But most of all she loved being a grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her boyfriend, Curtis Stinson of Revere, MO, three daughters, Shelly (Scott) Murphy of Kahoka, MO, Lori Burgess of Keokuk and Julia (Jeff) Dennison of Arizona, fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two sisters, Dorothy Andrews of Jasper, GA and Diane LaFever of Australia, two brothers, Pete (Chris) Brown of Missouri and Billy Brown of Keokuk and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Steven "Butch" Brown and John Brown. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Pastor David Turner officiating. Burial was in the Donnell Cemetery in Donnellson, IA. Memorials may be made to the family to help with Linda's final expenses.
