Lillian I. Truax, 91, of Hamilton, IL formerly of Chicago, Illinois, died Sunday, July 15, 2007 at the Montebello Healthcare Center in Hamilton, Illinois. She was born May 11, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Henning and Ingeborg Ryden Miller. On June 27, 1931, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Eugene Truax. He preceded her in death in 1996. While living in Chicago she and her husband were the Chicago City Champions in tennis. They also taught ballroom dancing at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. She enjoyed photography, bowling, traveling and playing Bingo. She is survived by a niece, Shirley Hulboy of Keokuk, Iowa, one nephew, Lee Wilson Truax of Farmington, New Mexico, three great nieces, Laura Reed and her husband Bill of Keokuk, Iowa, Diana Hulboy of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Gonzales of Farmington, New Mexico and one great nephew, Scott Truaz and his wife Arlene of Cary, North Carolina and four great great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother Raymond Miller. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 18 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Eric Shoemaker officiating. Memorials were established for the Blessing Hospice and the Montebello Activity Fund.
