Leonard Bruce Campbell, 97 of Keokuk, IA died Thursday, April 19, 2012 at River Hills Village in Keokuk, IA. He was born November 23, 1914 in Prairie City, IL the son of Fred and Eva Thurman Campbell. He was first married to Agnes Campbell, she preceded him in death. On December 26, 1971 he was united in marriage to Della Custer Lorentzen in Keokuk, IA. They just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Mark Campbell of Vancouver, WA, one daughter, Marilyn Campbell Vermillion of Portland, OR, two step-sons, Dale Young of Quincy, IL and Paul Lorentzen and his wife Priscilla of Montrose, IA, two step-daughters, Peggy LeMaster and her husband Kerry of Keokuk, IA and Phyllis Wiedow and her husband Bruce of Keokuk, IA, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and step-grandchildren and one sister, Ruth Satterfield of Springfield, IL. He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Campbell, a daughter in law, Joann Young, a granddaughter, two sisters, Elizabeth Callihan and Esther Moore and one brother, Wayne Campbell. Bruce attended Plymouth High School in Plymouth, IL. He had worked at Electro Metals as a Lab Technician and then drove a school bus part time for the Keokuk Community School District. Bruce was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He liked to work crossword puzzles and read, especially poems. Bruce enjoyed reading the Bible and had a passion for the door to door ministry. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3925 Avenue L in Ft. Madison, IA with Ron Fish officiating. Memorials may be made to the Ft. Madison Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses to go towards their new building.
