Leola A. "Lana" Dodds, 66, of Keokuk, IA, died Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. She was born on October 24, 1944 in Mexico, MO, the daughter of Edgar I. and Christine Byers Yates. On November 11, 1967 she was united in marriage to Edward Dodds in Quincy, IL. He survives. Other survivors include four sons, Rory Dodds and his wife Debra of Arlington, TX, Travis Dodds and his fiancé Tressa Johnston of Ewing, MO, Jason Dodds of Keokuk, IA and Brandon Dodds of Keokuk, IA, seven grandchildren, Rory Dodds, Jr., April Dodds, Jacob Dodds, Jerrod Dodds, Aaron Dodds, Linkin Dodds and Ashlynn Dodds, her mother, Christine Yates of Quincy, IL and one brother, Edgar Yates, Jr. and his wife Cathryn "Kaye" Yates, of Tolona, MO. She was preceded in death by her father and three sons, one son in infancy, Christopher Dodds and Joshua Dodds. Lana graduated from Quincy Senior High with the class of 1963. She worked as an assembler for Motorola in Quincy, IL. Lana was very artistic and enjoyed making crafts. She was proud of her children and grandchildren and loved being with her family. Graveside services were held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Scandinavian Cemetery in rural Montrose, IA with Reverend Dana Jurgens officiating. Memorials may be made to her family.
