Lawrence R. "Ray" Davis, 85, of Keosauqua, IA formerly of Ottumwa, IA died Saturday, May, 21, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Home in Keosauqua, IA. He was born on January 26, 1920 in Moulton, IA the son of Lawrence and Mildred I. Newland Davis. Ray was employed at John Deere in Ottumwa, IA for over 30 years before his retirement. He enjoyed sitting down to read a good book. Ray was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local #74. He is survived by three daughters, Jan, Jill and Jean, two sons, Mark and Rex, one brother, Ralph Davis and his wife Peggy of Keokuk, IA, one sister, Mary Buffington and her husband Chuck of Ottumwa, IA, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in infancy, Don Davis. Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Richard Burrell officiating. Burial was in the Horn Cemetery rural Moulton, IA at a later date. A Memorial was established for the Good Samaritan Home in Keosauqua, IA.
