Laura M. Ward-Zavala, 93, of Keokuk, died Friday, October 7, 2016 at her home. She was born on July 5, 1923 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Frank and Laura Alberts Ward. Laura enjoyed being a homemaker. She enjoyed chatting with her family and watching comedy shows on television. She was a great cook and loved to collect recipes. Laura had a quick wit and excellent sense of humor. She had an extremely sharp mind, even at the age of 93, and could remember even the smallest details. She is survived by one daughter, Cathy Allison of Ft. Worth, TX, one son, Robert Sackman of Keokuk, several grandchildren including, Ronald Allison, Clarence Buehl and Vern Stein, many great-grandchildren, and one sister, Alta Reynolds of Warsaw, IL. She was preceded in death by one son, Mick Ward, one sister, Frances Smith and two brothers, Joe Ward and George Ward. There will be no services. The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family.
