Kris Jay Taylor, 51, of Keokuk died unexpectedly on Friday, June 27, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. He was born on December 25, 1962 in Keokuk, IA the son of Marge Bishop Linder. On July 21, 1990 Kris was united in marriage to Sheri Lynn Fenton in Keokuk, IA. She survives. He is also survived by a daughter Morgan Taylor (Joe Sherburne) of Keokuk,one grandson, Remington Sherburne of Keokuk, one sister Kim (Darrell) Ludwick of Canton, MO, two brothers, Kevin W. Taylor of Keokuk, and Troy (Diana) Davis of Hamilton, IL, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mike and Diana Fenton of Hamilton, one brother-in-law, Troy (Heather) Fenton of Kahoka, MO, nephews, Christian Fenton of Chandler, AZ, Ahmi, Ehli, Bobby, BJ, Jimmy, Jake, Travis and Austin, nieces, Katie (Rodrigo) Obreque of Grand Junction, CO, Adli and Gemma, cousins, Tony and Randy Gibson of Springfield, MO and special Friend, Jim (Becky) Bowden of Keokuk. He was preceded in death by his mother and his maternal grandmother, Bonnie Gibson. Kris had been employed with Hickey Contracting in Keokuk for the last seven years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his wife and friends. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and working in his yard. Kris loved his recliner and big screen TV and was always in control of the remote. There was nothing more treasured in his life than his family and his daughter and grandson were his pride and joy. A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5th at the Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, IL. A memorial has been established.
