Kenneth E. Woodley, Sr. 83, of Donnellson, IA died Sunday, March 27, 2016 at the Great River Hospice House in Burlington, IA.
He was born October 5, 1932 in Robertson, IA the son of Glenn and Wilma Kiefer Woodley. On February 16, 1956 he was united in marriage to Virginia Hawes in Ft. Madison, IA. She preceded him in death on October 23, 2015.
He graduated from Donnellson High School in Donnellson, IA.
Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict.
He started his career at Dahms Chevrolet in 1965 as a body shop repairman and continued to work there for the next fifty years.
Kenneth was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Donnellson and Ft. Madison, IA, member of the TriState Gun Club in Montrose, IA and the American Legion Post in Donnellson, IA.
Kenneth was an avid target shooter and had competed in the Iowa State Silhouette Marksman where he took the Championship. He loved to go on morning trips to the gun club with his brother/best friend, Rodney. Kenneth enjoyed outdoor activities including deer hunting and fishing. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy and he loved attending their sporting events. Kenneth loved his little dog Roscoe Rabbit.
He is survived by five children, David R. Woodley, his wife Karen and their children Angie and Jill, Michealyn "Mickie" Westermeyer, her husband Rocky and their children Candi and Jesse, Kim Heidbreder, her husband Stan and their children Jake and Jodi, Terry Woodley, his children Chloe and Sophie and their mother Tracy Woodley, Kenneth Woodley, Jr., his wife Karen and their children Cole, Jerald, Ben and Tim, sixteen great-grandchildren, one-great-great-grandchild, two sisters, Betty Wolfe of Ft. Madison, IA and Patty Knight and her husband Darrell of Charleston, IA, three brothers, Jack Woodley and his wife Debbie of Donnellson, IA, David G. Woodley and his wife Betty Jo of Ft. Madison, IA, and Rodney Woodley and his wife Vera of Donnellson, many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother Ronald Woodley.
There will be no services.
