Kenneth R. Miller, 61, of Warsaw, IL, died Monday, March 26, 2012 at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA as a result of an accidental drowning. He was born on December 20, 1950 in Fort Wayne, IN, the son of Carl and Nelda Foster Miller. He married Jane Day and she survives. Other survivors include one son, Skyler Miller and his wife Catherine of Michigan, one daughter, Eden Miller of Virginia, one sister, Joann Dunn of Tennessee, a sister-in-law, Kristen Miller of Tennessee, two aunts, Glenda Wineder and Ida Jo Marshall both of Tennessee, one nephew, Tim Dunn, two nieces, Reenelda Phillips and her husband Craig and Marquetta Humphrey and her husband Larry, one great-niece, one great-nephew, five step-children, Kenny Day and his wife Angie of Warsaw, IL, Deanna Campbell and her husband Doug of Keokuk, April Day and Michael Day of Warsaw, IL, and Justin Day and his wife Bambi of Hamilton, IL, ten step-grandchildren, Kobe and Blake Coop, Logan Day, Malachi, Makayla, Matthew and Elijah Campbell, Bailey, Hannah and Zandrick Day. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Donald Miller and Foster Miller. Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and received his honorable discharge in 1970. He graduated from Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, TN and the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. Kenneth enjoyed working as an electronic engineer until he became disabled and was unable to work. He had worked at Harris in Quincy, IL, Thales in Southwick, MA, Roscor in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, Atlanta Olympic Broadcasting, Professional Products, WTVR-TV, WTMJ-TV, and KTNV-TV. He loved to fish and his favorite fishing spots were in the Tennessee rivers and lakes. He enjoyed feeding the KOI in the KOI pond at his home. Kenneth loved watching football and was an avid Oakland Raider fan as well as a fan of Tennessee and Michigan college football. He also enjoyed flying model airplanes and playing Play Station games. Kenneth loved and cherished his step-grandchildren and they were the light of his life. Graveside services with Military Rites were held at 1 p.m., Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Keokuk National Cemetery. There was no visitation.
