Kenneth M. Hayden, 83, of Keokuk, IA died Thursday, April 15, 2010 at his daughter's home in Keokuk, IA. He was born on August 23, 1926 in Keokuk, IA the son of Kenneth and Marie Scott Hayden. On March 12, 1965 Kenneth was united in marriage to Darlene Stark in Carthage, IL. She preceded him in death on November 11, 1996. Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country during WW II. He was employed at Foote Mineral in Keokuk for 38 years before his retirement. Kenneth was a member of the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 3508 and the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed drinking coffee with his buddies at McDonalds, traveling and bowling. He is survived by three daughters, Darla Fader and her husband Rick of Lisbon, IA, Earlene Weiss and her husband Brian of Burlington, IA, and Aletha Vradenburg and her husband Roger of Keokuk, IA, one son, Monte Lee Hayden of Des Moines, IA, six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one sister, Barbara LeMatty of Hamilton, IL, and one brother, Harold Hayden of Keokuk, IA. He was also preceded in death by one son in infancy, one daughter, Delta Davis and one granddaughter, Doris Burk. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 19 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA. Burial with military rites was in the Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk, IA. Memorials may be made to the New Testament Christian Church in Keokuk, IA.
