Obituary

Kenneth Carl Egley, 71, of Kahoka, MO died Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at his home. He was born October 12, 1935 in Rock Island, IL the son of George Lewis and Mary Alice Ross Egley. Kenneth was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Hobb on August 1970 in Quincy, IL. She survives. He is also survived by one sister Janet Haage and her husband Delbert of Keokuk, IA, two brothers, Pete Egley and his wife Janet of Keokuk, IA, and Robert Egley and his wife Barbara of St. Francisville, MO, sister-in-law, Connie Bonser and her husband Dwayne of Keokuk, IA, brother-in-law, Wallace Bryant, Jr of Wayland, MO, his mother-in-law, Madeline Bryant of Alexandria, MO, nieces, Tricia Cannon, Barbara Briggs and Peggy Tweedy, nephews, Ed Haage, Pete Egley, Jr, Bob Egley, Todd Egley, Carl Benge and Roger Egley. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother John Ross Egley. Kenneth attended two years at Hannibal LaGrange College in Hannibal, MO. He was a veteran of the United States Airforce, retiring in 1977 after 20 years of service. He then worked at the Riverside Plastics in Bonaparte and retired from there in 2000. He enjoyed woodworking, working with his hands and putting together models. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Dr. Rick Seaton officiating. Burial will be in the Frazee Cemetery in rural Alexandria, MO. Visitation will be held after 1 p.m., Friday at the funeral home with the family meeting with friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Hancock County Hospice.
