Obituary

Kenneth Acklie, 81, of Kahoka, Missouri died Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka. He was born June 20, 1931 in Kahoka, Missouri the son of Johnnie and Eda Katharina Neumann Acklie. On July 25, 1953 he married Mary Margaret Oschenbecker in Kahoka, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December 16, 2008. He graduated from Kahoka High School with the Class of 1949. Kenneth enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka, Missouri and a member of St. Francisville Masonic Lodge # 588, A.F. & A.M. He is survived by his son, Walter Acklie and his wife Brenda of Eldon, MO, two grandsons, Jared Acklie and Dustin Acklie and his wife Kim, two great granddaughters, Ava Kathleen Acklie and Lily Jean Acklie, two sisters, Rovene Lipper of Luray and Madeline Muhrer of Columbia, MO and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Daniel Ivin Acklie, and a brother, Lester Acklie. Funeral services were held 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2012 at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka. Burial with military rites was in the St. Paul Cemetery in Kahoka. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Paul United Church of Christ or the St. Paul Cemetery.
