Keaton Lee Gene Barnes, 4 days old, died Saturday, June 25, 2005 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. He was born on Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA, the son of Jennifer Carlson and Adam Barnes. Keaton is survived by his parents, Jennifer of Keokuk, IA, and Adam, of Wayland, MO, who is currently stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas with the U.S. Army, one sister, Kaylie Ann Carlson of the home, maternal grandmother, Jeanne Carlson of Keokuk, IA and her friend Wesley Denning of Kahoka, MO, maternal grandfather, David Carlson of Arizona, maternal great-grandmothers, JoAnn Scanlan of Keokuk, Iowa and Lila Carlson of Smithshire, IL, paternal grandparents, Tom & Connie Barnes of Wayland, MO, paternal great-grandparents, Mary & Hobart Gray of Keokuk, IA, one uncle, Eric Carlson of Keokuk, IA, two aunts, Tammy Barnes of Maryland and Misty Wardlow of Kahoka, MO, many great Aunts & uncles and cousins and two very special friends of the family, Brandon Harrison and David McIntyre. He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandfathers, Gerald Scanlon and John Carlson and his paternal great-grandparents, Russell and Esther Barnes. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 29 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage, IL. Memorials may be made to the family.
