Kay Copeland, 75, of Keokuk, IA died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA. She was born March 8, 1937 in Blandinsville, IL the daughter of James and Gertrude Hardy Tate. She married Ralph Copeland and he preceded her in death. Kay dedicated herself to her family and enjoyed cooking and caring for them. Her grandchildren were very special to her and she helped raise several of them. She is survived by one daughter, Pamela Donovan of Bloomington, IL, several grandchildren, including Trena Stanley of Keokuk, Drew Simpson and his wife Christine of Melvern, AR and Kenny Stanley of Keokuk, several great-grandchildren, including Nichole Stanley, Jessica Stanley, Austin Stanley, Chase Stanley and Abigail Stanley all of Keokuk, two great-great-grandchildren, Quintin Hale and Addyson Townsend both of Keokuk, one sister, Joyce Cowey of Ft. Madison, IA and one brother, Bob Tate of Bath, ME. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Becky Stowers, her parents and two brothers, Chuck Tate and Jimmy Tate. A Memorial Service was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Bill Mitchell officiating. There was no visitation.
