Kathy Jo Roost, 55, of Keokuk, IA, died Friday, September 22, 2006 at her home. She was born on April 14, 1951 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Thomas and Lila Coovert Land. She married Richard Roost in 1970. Kathy graduated with the Keokuk Senior High Class of 1969 and from Southeastern Community College. During her high school years she had had been a cheerleader for several years and was also crowned the Keokuk Relay Queen in her Senior year. She had been employed at Hoffman's Law Office in Keokuk, IA. Kathy was a member of God's Way Christian Center in Keokuk, IA. She was very artistic and enjoyed painting pictures. She was a good friend to many and was always willing to help anyone in need. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family which included her special cat Emma. Her grandchildren were her life's joy and she was very proud of all of them. She is survived by one son, Shawn Roost and his fiancé Klancy of Ursa, IL, one grandson, Shannon O'Day of Kahoka, MO, two granddaughters, Katie Roost of Kahoka, MO, and Kya Inman of Ursa, IL, four sisters, Susan Welker and her husband Merle of Williamstown, MO, Lisa Chapman and her husband Greg of Kodak TN, Tammy Boley and her husband Mark and Michele Adams and her husband Mike all of Keokuk, IA, and three nieces, Heather Barnes, Kara Wellington and Emilee Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Memorials may be made to the God's Way Christian Center or the Salvation Army.
