Kathlina N. Reinig, 18, of Warsaw, IL, died Monday, June 6, 2011 north of Carthage, IL as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born April 14, 1993 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Mark Reinig and Terri Jo Irvin.
Kathy graduated May 22, 2011 from the Warsaw High School with the Class of 2011. While in high school she played the clarinet in the band, was in the choir and also participated in drama.
She was accepted to and planning on attending Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa. She recently decided to be a school counselor. Kathy was an active member of the Sutter Salem Bible Church in Sutter, IL.
She was a unique, outgoing person. When she walked in a room she was like a ray of sunshine. She loved telling jokes and you would always see her smiling. She loved taking pictures, listening to music, and playing cards, especially Skip-Bo. Kathy was a vibrant young woman who was loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by her father, Mark Reinig of Warsaw, IL, her mother Terri Jo Irvin of Inverness, FL, one brother, Michael Hagmeier of Keokuk,IA, grandparents, Pam Irvin of Kahoka and Darlene Byrne of Keokuk, IA , great grandparents, John Irvin, Sr. of Kahoka, MO and Leo and Wilma Deihl of Keokuk, IA, four uncles, John Reinig and his wife Trish of Hamilton, IL, Paul Reinig and his wife Cindy of Troy, MO, Mac Irvin of Quincy, IL and J.A. Irvin of Kahoka, MO, the love of her life, Brandon Raszler of Ft. Madison, IA and a special family she adopted as her own, the Nelsons of Warsaw, IL, along with many great aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her step father, Les Rouse, her grandfather, John A. Irvin, Jr., her grandparents, Norma Larry Reinig, great grandparents, Robert and Wilma Egley, Vera Irvin and Edna Irvin.
Funeral services were held at 5 p.m., Monday, June 13, 2011 at the Warsaw High School in Warsaw, IL with Pastor Keith Percell officiating.
Burial was in the Bluff Springs Cemetery in rural Canton, MO.
A memorial has been established.
