After a two year long battle with Lewy Body Dementia, Karen C. Smith's time on earth ended December 29, 2022 at her home with some family by her side, but all in her heart. Karen is survived by 4 children (Cathleen, Andrew, Ryan, Sean) and their spouses,14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren (was happy to know another was expected in May), 3 brothers, their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and her daughter, Kerry.

According to Karen's wishes, direct cremation was accorded, and no visitation or public services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, plants or gifts, the family requests monetary memorials be sent to Lee County (Iowa) Hospice, who was a tremendous support to Karen's family in her final week.
