Roxie Pruett, 49, of Montrose, IA died Thursday, July 8, 2010 as the result of an automobile accident in Keokuk, IA. She was born October 17, 1960 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Richard Gale and Corrine Johnson Pruett. She graduated from Central Lee High School and Southeastern Community College. She was employed at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA as a RN for 25 years before her retirement due to her health. Roxie enjoyed her cats, riding horses, listening to country and western music, and reading. She especially loved to spend as much time possible with her family. She is survived by a brother, Richard "Rick" Gale Pruett, Jr. and wife Debbie of Kahoka, MO, nieces and nephews including, Josiah Richard Pruett and his wife Gabrielle, Elisha Scott Pruett and his wife Sarah, Micah Daniel Pruett, Joshua Dean Pruett, Tara Brooke Pruett, and Jackie W. Pruett, one step-brother, Larry Dean Mixer of Montrose, IA, one step-sister, Marilyn K. Mixer of Ft. Madison, IA, numerous step- nieces and nephews, and her step-mother, Goldie V. Pruett of Montrose, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. A Gathering of Remembrance for family and friends was held Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA. There will be no services and burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Keokuk Area Hospital Emergency Room Dept.
