Obituary

Karen Sue Goetz, 51, of Keokuk, died Saturday, September 27, 2014 at her home. She was born on June 27, 1963 in Carthage, IL, the daughter of Floyd D. and Janice K. Smith Bolton. On April 8, 2000, Karen was united in marriage to Joseph A. Goetz at the First Lutheran Church in Keokuk. He survives. She is also survived by two daughters, Jessie M. Clark and her husband Brandon and Nickie L. Lynn and husband Jesse all of Keokuk, one son, Patrick J. Goetz of Keokuk, four grandsons, Garrett A. Grunewald, Kendall J. Clark, Jaxon L. Clark and Jalen E. Clark and one brother Dale Bolton and his wife Diane of Hamilton, IL and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Bolton and her mother, Janice Jones. Karen graduated from the Nauvoo-Colusa High School with the Class of 1981. She also graduated from Hixson Floral Design in Lakewood, OH. Karen had been a Floral Designer for twenty-five years and worked at several local flower shops. As a florist, she was dedicated to making floral arrangements that would bring joy and comfort to others. During her 25 year career she touched the lives of many people. She also had been employed at Vision Clinic in Keokuk. Karen enjoyed riding motorcycles with her children and friends. There was nothing more treasured in her life than her family. Her children and grandchildren were the greatest gifts of her life and brought her much joy. She was a member of the All Saints Parish in Keokuk. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 3, 2014 at All Saints Parish in Keokuk with Father Marty Goetz and Father Robert Lathrop officiating. Burial was in the Oakland cemetery in Keokuk. Memorials may be made to The Hope Lodge in Iowa City, IA.
