June Matthews Quicksell, 90, of Cumming, GA, formerly of Montrose and Fort Madison, IA, died Thursday, February 11, 2016 at home.
She was born on Aug. 8, 1925 in Cornwall, NY, the daughter of Clarence Yeoman and Emily (Matthews) Yeoman
On Feb. 14, 1946 June was united in marriage to William E. Quicksell in Newburgh, NY. He preceded her in death.
June was a retired school bus driver. She was an avid bowler and bingo player and loved hearts, butterflies, and Betty Boop.
She was a member of the NRA and Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 9143 in Cumming GA.
She is survived by three daughters, June Mary Robinson and husband Joe of Cumming GA, Barbara Soto of Tombstone, AZ and Theresa "Terry" Kraus of Keokuk, IA, two sons, William E. Quicksell, Jr and wife Wendy of Pahrump, NV and Timothy Quicksell and wife Christine of Merritt Island, FL, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Dorothy Pitts of Marlboro, NY and Evelyn Moore of Keokuk, IA and many nieces and nephews
June was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two sons-in-law.
A Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 20th at the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk.
