June L. Billups, 61, of Keokuk, IA died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was born September 25, 1951 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Junior and Velma Carter Billups. June graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1970. June had been employed at the Keokuk Police Department for over twenty years as a dispatcher. She was passionate about her job and serving the public and dedicated to keeping the officers safe at all times. She was an employee who touched the hearts of many. She enjoyed watching movies and television. Her cats were very special to her. She is survived by her son, Jerry Billups of Keokuk, IA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Marcy Cale and Suzanne Webb. A Memorial Service was held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Memorials may be made to the family.
