Judy Ann Starr Eckard, 77, of Hamilton, IL, died Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the Countryview Care Center in Macomb, IL.
She was born on April 18, 1940 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Tom and Hilda Bouyea Orth. She graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1958.
She married Richard Starr in 1960 and they later divorced. On May 1, 1984, Judy was united in marriage to John Eckard in Las Vegas, NV. He survives.
She is also survived by three sons, Donald Starr (Debra) of Warsaw, IL, Tony Starr (Terri) of Macomb, IL and Terry Starr (Carol) of Oquawka, IL, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one brother, Jerry Orth of TX.
She was preceded by her father, Tom Orth, her mother, Hilda Orth Miller, one sister, Tony Ransdall and two brothers in infancy.
She had been employed at Shellers/BTR for a total of thirty-seven years, retiring in 1990.
In her younger years she was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Keokuk.
She loved to garden and grew beautiful flowers in her yard every season. She and her husband enjoyed many years of traveling and had traveled the entire United States. One of her favorite past times was playing Suduko, and she was very good at solving the puzzles. Her faithful dog, Duster, had a very special place in her heart.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk with Pastor Dan Davis officiating.
Visitation will be held after 1 p.m., Tuesday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with the family meeting with friends from 6 – 8 p.m.
