View Video Tribute Juanita E. Oberlies, 82, of Keokuk, IA, died Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. She was born on July 14, 1926 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Roy and Nellie Fry Norder. On July 18, 1948, Juanita was united in marriage to Ernest F. "Bud" Oberlies in Warsaw, IL. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1996. Juanita graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1944. She had been employed at the Knotty Pine Restaurant in Keokuk for several years. Juanita belonged to the McDonald's Coffee Club where she enjoyed visiting with her friends. She loved to cook and watch cooking shows on television. She is survived by one daughter, Joyce A. Crowell of Hamilton, IL, three grandchildren, Gina Leffler (Jim Wilsey), Ronnie Reed (Kris) and Cody Crowell, five great-grandchildren, Kerrie Kraus, Bradie Reed, Megan Meyer, Hunter Reed, and Derek Wilsey and three great-great-grandsons. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Oberlies. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend Bill Mitchell officiating. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Keokuk.
