Obituary

J.R. "Bob" House was born on July 25, 1920 in Athens, MO, the son of Earl Leo and Bessie Mabel Van Laningham House. He married Mildred Johnson in 1945 and she preceded him in death in 1985. On March 14, 2001, Bob was united in marriage to Ione Leslie Gregory in Burley, Idaho. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during WW II. Bob was retired from Greyhound Bus Lines where he was a driver for over 30 years. He drove from Boise, Idaho to Pendelton, Oregon and lived in Boise most of his life. The last few years he had lived in the Donnellson and Montrose area. He loved to travel, hunt and go salmon fishing. J.R. "Bob" House, 85, of Montrose, IA, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2005 at the Montrose Health Center. He had been in failing health for some time. He is survived by his wife, Ione, of Montrose, IA, three grandchildren in Idaho, one sister Helen Helterbran of Hillsboro, IA and one brother Sam House and his wife Louise of Keosauqua, IA, nieces, nephews and several cousins. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Brownfield, one brother, Bill House, and two sisters, Marie Cox, and Irene House. Bob was cremated and had requested no services be held. His ashes will be transported back to Idaho. Cards may be sent to his wife at 4 Mohawk Ct., Montrose, IA 52639
