Joy Lucille Robertson, 93, of Keokuk, IA, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at River Hills Village in Keokuk, IA. She was born on Februay 27, 1913 in Hancock County, IL, the daughter of John and Anna Herold Schilson. On December 8, 1934, Joy was united in marriage to Donald K. Robertson in Lancaster, MO. He preceded in death on September 22, 1990. Joy graduated from the Hamilton High School with the Class of 1929. Joy had been employed at the State Central Bank in Keokuk, IA for forty-one years before her retirement. She had been a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk, IA for over fifty years. She also was a member of the Ladies of the Elk, the American Legion Auxiliary and Prime-Timers. Joy loved to play bridge and was a member of several bridge clubs. She is survived by one sister, Lorell Mekemson of Keokuk, IA, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, at the Keokuk National Cemetery with Reverend Bill Olmsted officiating. Memorials may be made to the River Hills Alzhemiers Unit or the Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk, IA.
