Joy Helen Kemper, 81 of Montrose, IA passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
She was born July 5, 1942 in Gladstone, IL the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Whitaker Bowen.
Joy had been employed by Armour Dial until her retirement.
She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, gardening, watching westerns and football.
Joy is survived by three children, David Hamner (Lori), Deneen Hamner and Maxx Lane (Eugene), four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Jackie Kuda (William).
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, William Bowen and two sisters, Betty Black and Hazel Randell.
A gathering of remembrance was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 24,2023 at the Montrose Cemetery in Montrose, IA with Pastor Preston Smith officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the Montrose Church of Nazarene.
