Joseph Eugene Blaise, 75, of Keokuk, Iowa died Monday, October 29, 2007 at the Great River Medical Center in Burlington, Iowa. He was born December 25, 1931 in Keokuk Iowa the son of Charles P. and Jessie P. Kennedy Blaise. On March 28, 1955 he was united in marriage to Shirley Hancock in Hernando, Mississippi. She preceded him in death on September 22, 2000. In 1952 he joined the United States Army and served during the Korean War. Joe retired from Hubinger where he worked for many years as a dryer operator. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially watching his grandson grow up. He was also an avid Nascar fan. He is survived by a daughter, Michelle Londrie, two sons, Anthony (Tony) Blaise and Darin Blaise and his wife Paula all of Keokuk, IA, four grandsons, Jeremy Londrie, Ethan and Tallon Blaise all of Keokuk, IA and Trent Lovell of Canton, MO, a brother in law Merlin Loeschen of Keokuk, IA, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by his parents, daughter Holly Blaise, three brothers, Charles "Pete", Paul, and John Blaise, sister, Louella P. Loeschen, one brother in law and two sisters in law. Graveside services with military rites were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 2 at the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa with Reverend Terry Lovell officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, Iowa is in charge of the arrangements.
