Joner Junior "Pete" Brown, 69 of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA.

He was born November 15, 1953 in Keokuk, IA the son of Joner Junior and Martha Mae Kay Brown. Pete graduated from Keokuk High School.

Pete was a United States veteran and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.

On October 30, 1989 Pete was united in marriage to Mary Christine Dickens. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Leanora Brown (Donald Bauswell) of Keokuk and Rachel Brown (Chase Brotherton), one son, Matt Dickens of Keokuk, one step-daughter, Christina Ramsey of Keokuk, seven grandchildren, Casey Vradenburg, Jacoby Brown, Colton Vradenburg, Kolton Ramsey, Raelee Bauswell, Tayler Ramsey and Blake Briggs all of Keokuk. He is also survived by one sister, Diane LaFever of Australia and one nephew, Steve Brown of Ft. Madison, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Rebbecca Ferrall, two grandsons, Jayden Trent and Landon Trent, two brothers, John Brown and Steven "Butch" Brown, and two sisters, Linda Brown and Dorothy Andrews.

Pete had been employed as an over the road truck driver for In God We Trust-Ron Monroe Trucking Company until his retirement in 2016.

Pete loved trucking and his happy place was in his semi. He also loved working with Bill Goldie Logging. One of Pete's lifelong passions was motorcycles. He enjoyed motorcycle rides and also tinkering with motors. Pete was happiest when he was surrounded by his family. He treasured the time he spent with them making memories.

A Gathering of Remembrance was held from 2-4 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2023 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with family meeting with friends at that time.
