John A. Irvin, Sr.

John A. Irvin, Sr., 79, of Kahoka, MO died Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born July 13, 1933 in Chambersburg, MO the son of Ernest and Georgia May Keller Irvin. On October 20, 1951 he was united in marriage to Vera Mae Horter in Palmyra, MO. She preceded him in death on April 14, 1995. John had worked as a farmer and he also was a rock crusher at the Kaiser Rock Quarry. John enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming. He is survived by two sons, Bill Irvin of Revere, MO and Delbert Irvin and his wife Faith of Kahoka, MO, one daughter-in-law, Pam Irvin of Kahoka, MO, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one brother, Wesley Irvin of Luray, MO, one sister, Iva Lou Davis and her husband Kenny of CA and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife he was also preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Gary Allen Irvin, John Irvin Jr., granddaughter, Kathlina Reinig and four sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 29th, 2013 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Pastor Herb Doty officiating. Burial was in the Chambersburg Cemetery in Chambersburg, MO. Memorials may be made to the Chambersburg Cemetery.
