John B. Harmon

John B. Harmon, 53, of Keokuk, died Saturday, September 5, 2015 at his home. He was born on December 4, 1961 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Gerard "Jud" and Geraldine Yvonne Denmire Harmon. John graduated from Keokuk High School and served in the United States Army. On January 22, 1991, John was united in marriage to Margit Schott. She preceded him in death on March 5, 1998. He had been employed at Stone Container and Decker Manufacturing both in Keokuk. John loved to raise turtles and was a collector of many things. He is survived by one sister, Gwynn Flambeau and her husband Larry of Keokuk, nieces and nephews, special friends, Betty Sherrill, Jesse Johnson, and John Ashworth and special neighbors, Scottie Hancock and Gregg Scanlon. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Deborah Barnes and one brother, Greg Harmon. Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m., on September 21, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Park in Keokuk with Reverend Matt Hunt officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the American Liver Foundation.
