Jo Ann Stewart, 74 of Keokuk died Sunday, October 5, 2014 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was born October 28, 1939 in Moscow, TN the daughter of Duke and Lorena Wade Teague. On October 11, 1958 she was united in marriage to William Stewart in Moscow, TN. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, William Michael Stewart of Keokuk and John Edward Stewart of Port Arthur, TX, seven grandchildren, Joe, Jake, Bailey, Brighton, Alena, Justin, and John Michael, one sister, Linda (Don) Engebretsen of Eads, TN, one sister-in-law, Heide Teague of Ayrshire, IA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Albert Clay Teague and one sister, Maribelle Howard. Jo Ann graduated from the Moscow High School in Moscow, TN. She had been employed as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell in her younger years. She then worked as a bank teller at Security State/ Norwest Bank in Keokuk and later at Marine Bank & Trust in Hamilton, IL for twenty years, retiring in 2012. She had attended Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Keokuk. Jo Ann lived for her family and was generous to a fault. She was an excellent cook, and an avid reader. She was gifted in knitting and made many beautiful items for her family and friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she cherished the times they shared together. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 9th, 2014 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk.
