Jimmie Lee "Indian" Means, 62, of Lansing, MI, died Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born October 4, 1942 in Davenport, IA, the son of Leroy and Marie Ross Means. Jimmie was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Conflict. He had been employed at General Motors in Lansing, MI for 29 years, retiring in 1993. Jimmie loved to travel on "Grey Wolf", his motorcycle. He also enjoyed four-wheeling in his jeep, which he named "Savage Pony". He especially enjoyed spending time with his sidekick "Cowpoke". He is survived by two daughters, April Means of Bellevue, MI and Lesa A. DeBoer of Lansing, MI, one grandson, Keith Colister III, several brothers and sisters, close family friends, Doris & David Burk of Keokuk, IA and his special sidekick, Sean "Cowpoke" Burk of Keokuk, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents. A visitation for friends and family was held on Friday, January 28 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA. There was no service. A memorial was established for "Cowpoke's" education.
