Jim A. Arnold

Jim A. Arnold, 64, of Quincy, IL formerly of Farmington, IA died Friday, May 13, 2005 at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. He was born January 19, 1941 in Quincy, IL the son of William Henry & Fern Reed Arnold. On May 30, 1965 he married Sandra Arnold in Kirksville, MO. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Charles David Arnold and his wife Kelley of Quincy, IL, two grandchildren, David C. Arnold and Lauryn T. Arnold, two sisters Beverly Clark of Farmington, IA and Sharon Hicks and her husband John of Kennett, MO and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his grandmother, Carrie Stark, who raised him, and his loving daughter Lisa Kay Arnold, who had devoted her life to her dad as a caregiver. Jim graduated from Wyaconda High School with the Class of 1960. He had worked at Brower Manufacturing in Quincy, IL and Conrad's Hawkeye Steel in Houghton, IA for 36 years before his retirement in 1995. He loved collecting candles, fishing, and doing yard work. Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather and had devoted his life to his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and he treasured the times they spent together. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 17 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Charles Hayton and Reverend Lowell Beeler officiating. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 17 at the Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, IL with Pastor Dorothy Reed and Reverend Larry Wallingford officiating. Memorials may be made to the family
