Jessie Mae "Teedie" Betts, 90, of Keokuk, died Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the River Hills Village in Keokuk, IA. She was born March 23, 1923 in Keokuk, IA the daughter of Charles W. and Jessie V. Henson Betts. Jessie was a member of the First Christian Church of Keokuk, IA. She loved children and they loved her. Jessie was known as the best babysitter in the area. In her younger years she enjoyed playing softball. Jessie was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and rarely missed watching a game. She is survived by two sisters, Alice Peel and her husband Bill of Keokuk and Jody Hendricks of Keokuk, several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Midge Rader of Keokuk. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and five brothers of which two were in infancy. Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend David Turner officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or River Hills Activity Department.
