Jessie Mae Kay, 74, of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, IA.
She was born on May 13, 1932 in Quincy, IL, the daughter of William and Jessie Cain Paup. She married Jack Bruer on February 11, 1955. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2000. She married John Kay, Jr. on September 6, 2003 in Keokuk, IA. He survives.
Other survivors include six sons, Roy William Leasch, Robert Dean "Bugs" Leasch, Gary Lee Leasch and his wife Peggy, Eddie Breuer and David Breuer and his wife Denise all of Burlington, IA, Mark Breuer and his wife Julie of New Bern, NC, one stepson, David Kay of Keokuk, IA, eight grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren, four step-great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Huggins, Ruth Wilhite and Ethel Schmidt and one brother, Willie Paup.
Jessie graduated from Quincy High School in Quincy, IL. She was of the Baptist faith.
She enjoyed collecting angels. She was a loving and kind wife, mother and grandmother and her family was her pride and joy.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 18 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Reverend John Varner officiating. Burialwas in the Keokuk National Cemetery.
