Jessie R. Dieterich Hodges, 81, of Keokuk, IA, formerly of Clark County, MO died Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. She was born September 9, 1928 in North Platte, NE the daughter of Oscar E. Harvey and Jessie Godfrey Harvey. On December 7, 1946 she was united in marriage to Craig "Tuff" Dieterich in Fresno, CA. He preceded her in death on December 14, 1972. She later married Kenneth Hodges on April 30, 1977 in Memphis, MO. He preceded her in death on July 9, 2004. Jessie had been employed at Sheller Globe in Keokuk for twenty years. In 1977 she and her husband Kenneth purchased the WCAZ radio station in Carthage, IL. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk, IA. and United Methodist Women. She was a past member of the Tuesday Club in Kahoka, MO. After retirement she enjoyed crocheting, reading, growing and tending to her plants and animals. She had two special pet cockatiels, Sammy and Daisy. She is survived by one son, Gary Dieterich of Downing, MO, one son-in-law, Robert McDavid of Bonaparte, IA, one step-son, Mick Hodges and his wife Nancy of McHenry, IL, one step- daughter-in-law, Margaret Hosenbeck of Davenport, IA, three grandchildren, Steven McDavid, and his wife Jentrie, Nicki Creason and her husband Stacie, Jami Butner, two step-grandchildren, Todd Hodges and Chet Hodges, six great-grandchildren and one sister, Della Harvey of Keokuk, IA. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Vickie McDavid, one step-son, John Hodges, and one grandson, Clay Dieterich. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 18 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Dr. Emmanuel Dass officiating. Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery north of Luray, Mo. Memorials may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk, IA or United Methodist Women.
