Jerry Steele, 69, of Keokuk, IA, died Thursday, May 16, 2014 at the Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk, IA. He was born October 19, 1944 in Forrest Glave, TX the son of Frank Rushing and Bessie Christine Robertson Steele. He was married to Rita Johnson. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Jerry O'Neil Steel and Paul Steele both of Waco, TX, four daughters, Crystal Steele, Samantha Steele, Gayla Steele and Janice Steele all of Waco, TX, two sisters, Francine Moore and her husband Winston of KY, Lucy Cook of Haslet, TX, three brothers, Rushin Steele of Lott, TX, Allen Steele of CO and Paul Steele of Chilton, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Elsie Merilian, one brother, Glen Steele, two nephews and one niece. Jerry enjoyed cooking, raising various animals and fishing. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
