Obituary

Jerry B. Hudson, 72 of Donnellson, IA died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the Ft. Madison Community Hospital in Ft. Madison, IA. He was born on November 20, 1938 in Keokuk, IA the son of Jim and Gladys Kelley Hudson. On September 17, 1960, Jerry was united in marriage to Donna Rowe. She survives. Other survivors include four children, Gail Heidbreder and her husband Dale of Donnellson, IA, Brice Hudson and his wife Tammy of Quincy, IL, Terry Hudson of Ft. Madison, IA and Chris Hudson and his wife Connie of Montrose, IA, one sister, Carolyn Dunlap and her husband Bob of Kahoka, MO, one brother, Richard Kinkeade and his wife Beth of Minnesota, two brother-in-laws, Forrest Jones and his wife Donna of Warsaw, IL and Sam Daggs of Montrose, IA, thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, two sister-in-laws, Joan Daggs and Ginger Loring and one great-grandson, Hunter Ray Rule. Jerry was educated in the Keokuk public school system and after high school served in the United States Army as a radio operator during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed at the Scotts Company in Ft. Madison, IA for thirty-three years, retiring in 2003. He enjoyed Nascar, the History Channel and washing his car every Sunday. One of the stories he would tell was when he met Elvis. Jerry cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There will be no service at this time. A graveside service will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established for the family and memorials may be left at or mailed to Vigen Memorial Home, 1328 Concert Street, Keokuk, IA 52632.
