Jerry Tom Guel, 86, of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Keokuk Area Hospital, Keokuk, IA Jerry was born on April 30, 1922 in Duluth, MN the son of John Leroy Knott and Pearl Holmes. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and proudly served his country during WW II. Jerry moved to Keokuk from Rio Oso, CA in 2007 to be closer to his daughter. In California he was employed as a farm foreman before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Jerry is survived by his daughter, Donna Cline and her husband Don of Keokuk, IA, two grandchildren, Alan Cline and Kim Washburne, both of Keokuk, IA and four great grandchildren, Jasmine Boudewyn, Jeremy Boudewyn, Ethan Brown, and Madison Brown all of Keokuk, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services with military rites were held at 10 a.m. Friday,September 19 at the Keokuk National Cemetery with Elder Roger Payne officiating. A Memorial was established for the Keokuk Humane Society.
