Jerlyn K. Bowman Lindsay, 72, of Keokuk, passed away Friday, April 24, 2026, at Birkwood Village in Fort Madison, Iowa.

She was born September 25, 1953, in Aurora, Missouri, the daughter of Jerl and Doris (Fishback) Bowman. Jerlyn attended Canton High School in Canton, Missouri, and graduated with the Class of 1971.

She was united in marriage to William “Jim” Lindsay in 1971; they later divorced.

Jerlyn worked at Pamida, Jack’s, Shopko, Hy-Vee, and Casey’s throughout her career. She had a great love for flowers and possessed a vast knowledge of planting and growing them. She also enjoyed photography and framing her pictures, going shopping, and watching the news. Jerlyn dearly loved her fur baby, Lucy, and missed her deeply. Though a private person, she cherished time spent with her family.

She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her son, Jeron (Elisha) Lindsay; her grandsons, Ryan and Blake Lindsay; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Harry Higgins; and two brothers, James Franklin Bowman and Jerry William Bowman.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 1, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Hickory Grove Cemetery, rural Keokuk.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Every Step across Iowa fundraiser or PAWS Animal Shelter.
