Jeanne Jackson, 82 of Navoo, IL passed peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 11th, 2016 surrounded by the presence of her children.
Jeanne was born September 20th, 1933 in Cedar Rapids, IA. She was the daughter of Leonard Clyde and Olive Flossie Krapf Altmaier. Jeanne was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Jackson, on August 10, 1952 in Keokuk, IA. Kenneth preceded her in death on August 29th, 2015.
Jeanne graduated from Keokuk High School with the class of 1951. She enjoyed meeting new people, and being out socializing with her friends and family. Kenneth and Jeanne enjoyed their retirement traveling in their motorhome, making Texas their winter home for several years.
Jeanne loved playing board games and always played to win! Occasionally she enjoyed taking her chances at the casino! She was an excellent baker, often making her grandkids favorite snicker doodles and potato salad. She was gifted in her needlework and put a great deal of love into making beautiful quilts and gifts for her family.
Jeanne is survived by a daughter, Cindy Henson and her husband, Gary, of Hamilton, IL; a son, Bruce Jackson and his wife, Sherry, of Lake Ozark, MO; three grandchildren, Andrea (Justin) Sewell of Hamilton, IL; Tyler Jackson, and Kelsey Jackson of Lake Ozark, MO; two great grandchildren, Brenden and Walker Sewell; one great grandchild on the way, Braxten Jackson; two sisters, Karla (Paul) Say of Florida, and Cheri (Jerry) Baynard of California; a brother-in-law, Keith Robb, of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Linda Robb; and one brother, Dwayne Altmaier.
Burial will be held at the Keokuk National Cemetery at a later date.
