James Edward O'Brien, 43, of Oologah, Oklahoma died Monday, March 20, 2006 at his home in Oologah, Oklahoma. He was born October 9, 1962 in Kirksville, Missouri, a son of Richard and Mary Edith Korschgen O'Brien. James attended Granger Grade School and was a 1981 graduate of Scotland County High School. He liked working with wood after taking two years of building trades; he then worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker. In 1987 he moved to Colorado and attended Colorado Aerotech Avionics School when he earned an A & P (Airframe and Powerplant) license. He was hired in 1988 by American Airlines in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he was employed in their shops as a mechanic. James lived in Oologah, Oklahoma where he built his own house and workshop. His best pal was a lovely black lab. He is survived by his mother, Mary O'Brien of Arbela, MO, two sisters, Jean Oberman and her husband Terry of Kahoka, MO, Nancy Holt and her husband Mark of Arbela, MO, one brother Dennis O'Brien and his wife Bonnie of Luray, MO, four nephews, Anthony O'Brien and his wife Paula of Canton, MO, Thomas Oberman and Brian Oberman both of Kahoka, and Chris Holt of Memphis, MO, three nieces, Denise O'Brien of Boston, MA, Andrea Brandon and her husband Mike of Warrensburg, MO and Jennifer Holt of Memphis, MO, three great nieces, Sidney Brandon, Keelie and MacKenzie O'Brien, aunt and uncles, Leroy and Bernice Korschgen, Anna Mae Korschgen, Dorothy Toops, Joe and Esther Kerr and Maureen and Tipton Biggs and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Eddie O'Brien, maternal grandparents Edward and May Schmid Korschgen, paternal grandparents, Morris and Charlotte Weaver O'Brien. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 25, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Father Paul Hartley officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery in Kahoka, Missouri. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service on Saturday with family meeting with friends at that time. Memorials can made to the American Red Cross or the Kahoka Cemetery.
