James Carroll Kensett, Jr., 66, of Keokuk, IA, died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at his home. He was born on December 24, 1942 in Keokuk, IA, the son of James Carroll Kensett Sr., and Katherine Baker Kensett. On August 31, 2005, James was united in marriage to Teresa Nelson in Keokuk, IA. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, James Carroll Kensett III and his wife Tashia of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jason Kensett of Fairfield, IA and Tony Kensett and his wife Uda of West Point, IA, one step-daughter, Trinity Shoup of Keokuk, IA, five grandchildren, one great-grandson, and two sisters, Mary Ann Wilmesmeier of Ft. Madison, IA and Suzie Richers of Iowa City, IA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents and one sister in infancy, Kathleen Kensett. James was a veteran of the United States Army. He had been employed at Electro Metals in Keokuk for many years and then worked as a Security Guard before retiring. He loved to garden. There will be no services or visitation at this time.
