James Henry Daniels, 71, of Keokuk, IA died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the Keokuk Area Hospital. He was born February 20, 1939 in Memphis, MO, the son of Harold "Mickie" and Flora "Belle" Ann Stoneking Daniels. On August 14, 1963, he was united in marriage to Carole Wilsey in Keokuk, IA. She survives. Other survivors include three sons; Kevin Daniels, Shawn Daniels and his wife Hilary all of Hamilton, IL and Dustin Daniels and his friend Christina Davison of Keokuk, IA; seven grandchildren, Brandon Daniels (his best buddy) , Kali Daniels, Dakota Daniels, Makyla Spring, Keana Saunders, Sheyen Spring and Gabbryella Davison; four brothers, John Daniels of Tacoma, WA, Roger Daniels and his wife Francine of Kahoka, MO, Harold Daniels and his wife Karen of Keokuk, IA, and Terry Daniels and his wife Patty of Keokuk, IA; two sisters, Frances Jackson and her husband Dean of Burlington, IA, and Carol Ann Morrison of Kahoka, MO; an aunt, Louise Saxton of Huntsville, MO; and sister-in-law, Sis Daniels of Carthage, IL, as well as nieces, nephews and his dog Trixie. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Christopher James Daniels, two brothers, Wayne Daniels and Larry Daniels and, twin sisters, Joyce Louise Daniels and Jerry Mae Daniels. James was employed at BTR for over 30 years retiring in 2001. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Keokuk, IA. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He was an avid Hawkeye Fan, enjoyed tinkering and fixing things, and doing yard work and growing flowers. He especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren and his family. Funeral services were held 2 p.m., Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Rev. Ron McDugal officiating. Burial with military rites was in the Oakland Cemetery, Keokuk, IA. Memorials may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
